Today I have been blessed to be surrounded by family.
To wake up with my husband, daughter and son.
To gather with my church family.
To get together with my family who are all celebrating birthdays this weekend, my father and sister-in-law, and my parents who celebrate 40 years of marriage today.
This week my brother, my mother and my daughter all celebrate their birthdays as well.
Never am I more aware of how blessed I am in family than this week every year, and the three lessons it helps me recall.
1. To treasure the blessing that we are all present together each year we gather.
2. Presence is the best gift you can give each other, year round.
3. Wherever you are present, be all there, with intention.
Jesus often reminds me of these three lessons throughout the seasons.
For where we are gathered, He is there with us.
His Presence is the best gift He has ever given us, after the freedom we have been given through Jesus’ death on the cross.
Wherever He is, He is fully there. Jesus fully engaged wherever He was, and with everyone He encountered, as He went about Kingdom business.
Every day is family day to our King, who will never stop inviting all He loves into His family.
