write Your name

It was the kind of rain that came down in streams and wrote Your name on my heart like a branding iron.

– Christina Coryell

Your love
flowed down with such force
its impact slammed into me
Stealing my breath away
in a glorious expression
of Your heart
And as it made its way
Through the nooks and crannies of my heart
It wrote Love’s name there
in permanent ink
For You never enter
One of Your Beloved
And fail to leave
The imprint of Your
Staking Your claim
From the inside out
Until the mark
Blazes bright enough
For outsiders to see.
You write Your Name
On my heart
But don’t stop there
You also gave me a new name
a new identity
A fresh slate
And a bright future
At Your side
Song of Your heart
Love of Your life
Continue to write Your Name
Everywhere You want
Within me
Until all that remains
Is You.
