There is a wonder I have been pondering over for these past several days, which has to do with the idea of home.
It takes a lot to transform a house into a home, doesn’t it? Vision, preparation, restoration, decoration and action all combine to make what we believe as “home” come into being.
Home invites us to enter and rest there…
The wonder to me about this concept? God chooses to make His home in you & ME!
GOD wants to make His home within us as we make Him our Home. He invites us over and over in the Word to do so.
The best part?
No matter what background we come from, we are each of us included in His home. We become part of its very structure, regardless of our broken bits, weakness, strength or age…and whether we’ve been in for a while or just arrived!
The invitation is for everyone to come and find their rest in Him.
For nothing feels quite as good as when you make it home after a long trip, does it? Where you can come and be, just as you are. Bunny slippers, worn pj pants, bed head and all.
Come, be at home in My Place, beloved. (Psalm 65:4)
As I make My home in you, you will become increasingly more comfortable coming home to spend time with Me. You will find deep rest for yourself inside of Me. I will provide for all of your needs, because that’s what family does for the ones it loves.
You await my invitation for You to come & make Your home in me.
If you don’t quite know how to word this invitation, the words of “Make Your Home Inside my Heart” by Sarah Brusco are a wonderful place to begin. Click here to play the video.
