Monday I began a series on Romans 8 which I intended to finish this week.

Yesterday (Tuesday) was such a long full day that my body shut itself down early right after a late dinner.

And I awoke on the sofa to find it is now Wednesday!

So here is a jot of some of what was perculating along side the main message I was planning and am still going to finish this week!

One Thing….

A friend shared a timely message this Monday afternoon over in Remade Community’s Facebook group. One which I caught in the rerun, and one that God has been whispering into my spirit as He leads me to become healthier this year.

As someone who has never met a potato that she didn’t like, especially in times of stress & duress, I get the picture about the extra weight we sometimes carry. I have literally carried mine as a protective layer over myself. A shield to hide behind, so neither of us got to look too deeply at the person behind it.

I no longer want to carry any extra weight, physically or otherwise.

I have found the greatest freedom with the most joy comes when I let go of the baggage I still haul around from my past.

Our God is such a good good Father, and longs to give us all gifts which express that love.

Freedom is one such gift.

I am learning that the more I loosen my grip on the things which I don’t need to take with me anymore, the more my hands are open to receive His blessings towards me.

Join me as we make 2017 our year of letting go of what doesn’t matter and grab tight to the hands of the One who matters most!

I am leaving my baggage of overeating behind today:

  • I have a tracker for holding me accountable to moving every day, making sure I eat and drink healthy (80/20) and am getting enough rest.
  • I have a new bible study I can’t wait to dive into.
  • I am making room for more soaking and worship times.
  • I am praying and writing daily.
  • I also have a few friends who are joining me so we can encourage one another on the way.
  • I have God in my corner as my coach and strength!

My one thing for 2017 is to take better care of me this year.

Making more room within for God to express His care for me.

What one thing would you like to leave behind you this year?

What one thing would you like to add to your life this year?

“One thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead. I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:12)
