Patience is not my forte. Maybe you can relate.

When I first began working with other people, I realized that I was going to have to learn patience.

Because not everybody is as calm, nice or easy going as I am (most of the time!).

I struggled with this for years longer than I should have. It took Holy Spirit leading me to several key verses and an awakening to desiring to be more like Jesus for the light to go on in my mind, and life.

Patience isn’t possible in the natural. For we are not all alike, and life will always be filled with highs and lows, challenges and pain.

All the difficulties in life combine into a package designed to either make us or break us, especially for those of us trying to brave it on our own strength.

May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had. Romans 15:5

God has shown us such patience by:

  • loving us where we are at,
  • saving us at our most sinful,
  • embracing us at our lowest.

For He is patience personified, taking the weight of those He loves upon His own shoulders as He strengthens & equips us.  So we can be patient with one another, just as He has shown us how to be so.

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Ephesians 4:2

Patience can’t be managed without love, for it becomes unbearable without His heart to fuel it.

If you too need to increase your patience level in your life, take some time to rest in His Presence, and ask Him to release the pressure building up within. Allow Holy Spirit to soothe your impatience, and invite Him to exchange it for His patience, and His heart for those to whom you are ministering.
