Whenever I become aware I am off track, burned out and exhausted, You lead me to reread Matthew 11:28-30 MSG.

As I do, You refresh me, and remind me we are not in a one way relationship. You hear the cries I keep buried deep inside…

  • my longing for rest which endures,
  • my need to be free from worry and stress,
  • my desire for deep connection.

Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to Me.

Oh God, how weary I feel when I haven’t spent enough time with You. Yet You are always inviting me to return to Your embrace. Open door, open arms, open heart.

Get away with Me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest.

Time alone together with You not only strengthens me and keeps me on the right path, it restores my soul as You show me what true rest is – living with You.

Walk with Me and work with Me—watch how I do it.

Not only do You stay beside me, You show me how to do my work for Your Kingdom Your way – with You.

Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you.

When I stay close to You, I am able to move in Your ways of grace, knowing You carry the weight of the tasks we are facing together.

Keep company with Me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.

The more I spend time with You, the lighter You make my load, and more You enable me to live in freedom.

May we always remain at Your side, facing whatever the day may hold, together.
