“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.” Ephesians 6:10 ESV

Our strengthening comes to us in two ways. The first is by spending time with God – in His Word, in worship, in prayer. The second is by asking His strength to fill you.

We cannot “be” strong in Him nor the strength of His might if we do not “do” what we need to.

Becoming strong is like lifting weights. Without weight training, your muscles do not grow stronger. But you actually have to lift the weights for them to become strong. A schedule will never make you strong if you don’t implement it.

We are the children of the Most High, who longs to empower and strengthen us in each and every way we need Him… which is in all things and at all times, in every season and situation.

It is no accident that this verse comes in the section with putting on the armor and spiritual warfare.

God instructs us to become equipped in every way listed there so He can become our defense and strength.

Invite God to show you just how He longs to be there for you in the power of His might as you come into His Presence, mighty one. His Word is chock full of the recorded history of Him doing just so in those time periods, and as His character never changes – we can trust Him at His Word to keep strengthening us today!

Love it! How true, that we have to move and do “our part” to accomplish any of the benefits. I don’t think that’s taught nearly enough.
