Hope in His Presence

What gets you through the hardest of days? When the kids are clamouring for your attention, that bill payment or project deadline is looming large, or your pain is loudly squawking?
I draw close to God. I put on music and begin to praise and worship Him, inviting His Presence. I open the Bible, and ask His living Words to come alive for me as I need to hear them. I listen for His prompts and keep my eyes open for His responses.
And I never give up hoping that things will get better, just as His Word promises us.
But here is a key that many of us forget when stressed or overwhelmed….
His Presence goes with us everywhere we go.
Not in a far off distant way, like the pillar of cloud and fire in the Old Testament.
Right within and about and with us, thanks to the gift of the Holy Spirit.
I draw a lot of comfort from the following verse, because like you, I feel every pain, loss, let down deeply.

“Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.” Romans 5:5 NKJV

So I choose Hope in His Presence every day as my lifeline. My anchor through the rising waves. My shelter in the blustery storms. My constant companion, always.
Friend, you can make Him your go to as well. And might I suggest that things become all the more peaceful and clearer when we don’t go to Him last, but rather choose to run to Him first?
Consider adding Psalm 25:5 to your prayer, as you invite Him to move in your life:

“Guide me in Your truth and teach me, for You are God my Savior, and my hope is

in You all day long.”
