FAITHFUL (adjective, plural noun)
-
loyal, constant, and steadfast.
-
true to the facts or the original.
When I was pondering the word “us” from yesterday, a connection was made for me that I had never seen before.
When the writer of this song put the lyrics together, they intentionally called out to all the faithful to come, “Oh Come All Ye Faithful.” Yet in the chorus, they use the word “us.”
The connection? We, us, are the faithful!
Just like our Creator, we the faithful are referred to as loyal, constant and steadfast – just like the Original, who is always true to His Word!
So as you gather to sing Christmas carols this season, and this song begins to play, lift your voice & celebrate that God calls you one of His faithful, something each one of us, His children, can claim as our name, because that’s who He says we are!

Word: “God! Let the cosmos praise Your wonderful ways, the choir of holy angels sing anthems to Your faithful ways! Search high and low, scan skies and land, you’ll find nothing and no one quite like God. The holy angels are in awe before Him; He looms immense and august over everyone around Him. God-of-the-Angel-Armies, who is like You, powerful and faithful from every angle?” Psalm 89:5-8 MSG
