When I think of the gift of Christmas which God has given the world, no matter what else is going on in my life, I sense a strong spark of joy. I have learned that I can be merry, or joyful, at any time, because of Jesus. This little baby & holy God all in one changed everything for me. So this week, I am unpacking 5 gifts that we are given each Christmas, starting with M.
There is an old fashioned word, MISSIVE, which is another word for news. And so does the word MESSAGE. And since the whole purpose of the Christmas story is to bring us good news, they both fit perfectly! Coz who doesn’t like good news, friend?!
Ask Him to make the missive, this good news message, of the Christmas story come alive anew within you today.
Word: “There were sheepherders camping in the neighborhood. They had set night watches over their sheep. Suddenly, God’s angel stood among them and God’s glory blazed around them. They were terrified. The angel said, “Don’t be afraid. I’m here to announce a great and joyful event that is meant for everybody, worldwide: A Savior has just been born in David’s town, a Savior who is Messiah and Master. This is what you’re to look for: a baby wrapped in a blanket and lying in a manger.”
