The last gift God has for us to open at Christmas is hinted at in an old fashioned word that we sing, most of us without noticing, in the carols “Angels from the Realms of Glory” and “O Holy Night.”
YONDER.
“Yonder” means literally, “over there.”
And this last gift of Christmas that God has for each and every one of us?
When God came down to live among us, in a move that stunned the world, God literally moved from yonder to with us.
And that is literally one of His names which was prophesied years and years before Jesus’ birth.
Word: “All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: ‘The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him “Immanuel” ‘ (which means “God with us”).” Matthew 1:22-23, Isaiah 7:14
But friend, here is the nugget for you to come to terms with. The God from over YONDER has now moved within YOU.
“God with us” refers to the fact that once YOU unwrap and receive this gift? YOU are never alone, ever again. God literally moves into us when we accept Him.
