When I do something wrong, and I realize that sin has risen up within me again, I am thankful that God has made a way for not only sin’s removal, but my restoration.
“Can You drown it in the deepest sea? Can You cast it far as west from east? Can You raise me up to live again, so I can live again?” @coreyvoss
When we come to God and bring Him our wrongdoings, our sins, whatever they may be? His death on the cross covers the cost of what I have done. Paid for in full. Transaction completed.
And amazingly as well, He gives us new mercy for a new day (Lamentations 3:22-23), and new life as He moves in to those places where the poison of sin had been causing us internal harm (Ephesians 2).
So yes, my sin once it has been brought to the cross is removed from me as far as the east is from the west (Psalm 103:12)! Which is further apart than the deepest sea bottom…
But more importantly to me is how God gives us new life and second chances, as He extends forgiveness yet again, and continuously loves me despite all I do.
