don’t ever let me go

When our cat Henry can’t locate his sister Jane around our house, he resorts to doing something I find fascinating. He meows, calling out over and over until she answers him. As long as it takes.

Even when we can’t sense Him, God is with us. His Word promises He is, and because He is Truth, we can take Him at His Word (Psalm 46:1-3, Psalm 139). And even when we can’t hear Him, God speaks to us. He promises that those who seek Him will find Him (Jeremiah 29:13), and He hears us when we call to Him (Psalm 34:17). His Word still speaks when we may find ourselves in a loud situation where we can’t hear His still small voice directly.

Yet His best promise of all? He won’t ever let us go. Once we are His, we are forever His (Isaiah 55:10, Psalm 48:14).

The chorus of the song lyrics I have been sharing this week by @coreyvoss are so simple, yet so deep and honest.

“Don’t ever let me go.”

And friend? He won’t. Neither through the storms of life, nor at the end of your life. He is holding you tightly, and permanently.

Rest in these truths today, and let Him anchor your soul no matter the season you find yourself in.
