what are you wearing?

Every morning, you and I get out of bed and put on clothes appropriate for the day ahead.

And we don’t think twice about doing so, as getting dressed is one of those automatic habits we all have in place since childhood.

I was struck a few weeks ago in the early morning by the question, “What are you wearing today?” And as part of my daily routine is to put out my clothes the night before, I thought of the outfit I had planned.

Then I sensed God asking me the question again…and I realized He was asking me something else altogether.

As His children, God gives us many gifts to unwrap and enjoy. And some of these gifts? We miss opening because we are unaware of them, or don’t comprehend their importance to our daily lives.

This week, I will be unpacking the answer to this question, for I believe many of us are walking around without the proper clothing in our spirits, and as a result are not appropriately dressed for the situations in which we find ourselves.
