the next step in putting on the armor of God

“…and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.” (Ephesians 6:15 NIV)

Our next piece of the armor God has given us seems a bit strange at first glance, until you remember something about warfare.

Warfare happens on a battleground. When that happens in the physical, it involves two sides facing one another. Who have moved into their positions ultimately by means of their (you guessed it) feet!

And just like the bulk of our soldiers worldwide, their preparedness gives them a peace when they encounter their enemy. That they are as ready as they can be.

With this gift of God given peace? Wherever we go, His peace walks in and with us. We can invite Him to move in the moment, and share the good news that God is with us everywhere, as He prompts before, during and after the battle.

Being outfitted with the gospel of peace gives confidence to our stepping out under His covering, wearing this specially crafted piece of heavenly armor.
