when I really need to be held

I often find myself when I am feeling blue missing being held like I held my children when they were small and had a “boo-boo.” Maybe this happens to you as well.

We all long for connection, intimacy and feeling loved… don’t we, friend?

It is no accident that God reminds us in His Word about one of my personal favorite ways in which He loves and cares for His children… that of Shepherd.

WORD:

Look at Him! God, the Master, comes in power, ready to go into action.
He is going to pay back His enemies and reward those who have loved Him. Like a shepherd, He will care for His flock, gathering the lambs in His arms, hugging them as He carries them, leading the nursing ewes to good pasture.

Isaiah 40:10-11 MSG

WORSHIP:

“How He Loves Us” by David Crowder https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCunuL58odQ

WALK:

God, thank You for taking such gentle and tender care of me, especially when I am hurting in any way. You love to keep me close, carry me through the harder parts of the path I am on, and lead me towards rest and provision as I follow You.

May we continuously seek the Lover of our Souls first, before all other less satisfying and temporary substitutes.
