For the month of July, I have decided to celebrate the joy I find in God, and to share that joy as I experience them via my senses. This week, how I experience joy through SOUND.
I love listening to the bible read out loud (my Dwell app starts each morning off this way) and imagining God speaking them out loud to me. This verse is one of my favorites to hear, and let soak into the places within me which desperately need the touch of the joy it brings.
“Don’t be afraid, I’ve redeemed you. I’ve called your name. You’re Mine. When you’re in over your head, I’ll be there with you. When you’re in rough waters, you will not go down. When you’re between a rock and a hard place, it won’t be a dead end— Because I am God, your personal God, The Holy of Israel, your Savior. I paid a huge price for you: all of Egypt, with rich Cush and Seba thrown in! (and in the NT, through Jesus’ death on the cross) That’s how much you mean to Me! That’s how much I love you! I’d sell off the whole world to get you back, trade the creation just for you.”Isaiah 43:1a-4 MSG
