I like to start my work days with a smile, 98% of the time. (Because tech glitches and bus delays are real, people!) And not a full on Cheshire Joker type grin either, but whatever smile you can muster from your heart. If the day is starting off on shaky ground, being thankful you have a job can help that smile return.
But my biggest smile has come from realizing that I can minister to people with a simple grin. Welcome them, laugh with them, hear them out when they are frustrated or in pain, offer them assistance, and hope.
Because my real boss is God, and He is ultimately the one I am working for.
Meeting Him and becoming His beloved daughter has changed everything in my life. So moody sarcastic hurting me gave way to become someone who can offer hope to everyone, but especially those who are, you guessed it – moody, sarcastic and hurting.
Nothing is wasted in His kingdom economy, friend! And that alone is a great reason to smile again!
“Work with a smile on your face, always keeping in mind that no matter who happens to be giving the orders, you’re really serving God.”
Ephesians 6:7 MSG
