DAY 18: {HOPE ALWAYS}

Some days, the weight of what I am carrying can become way too heavy for me. I find on those days that I have forgotten to pack one of the best tools I have to use to combat anxiety, stress, and worry – HOPE.

When I fill my mind (aka my backpack) up with Hope each day, I find I tend to respond from a positive place, versus a negative one. Essentially, I take on less mess when my Hope tank is properly filled up.

Notice i mentioned “respond,” and not “react.” Reactions are instinctual, you can make them without any conscious thought. And when I react, I usually cause myself undue drama and complicate an already difficult or hard situation. When I respond, I am intentionally choosing the way I am going to handle myself.

There is enough out there that can weigh us down if we are not alert to how to best battle throughout our days, friend. Adding a verse like today’s to your arsenal, and using it when you need to remind yourself God is present, battling with and for you, and worth our praise? Knowing I can always come to Him about anything at any time? Priceless! I find the more I look to Him, the more I see Him move, the deeper the revelation of His care and love for me, and the more praise rises up within me – leaving less room for stress, worry, anxiety or fear.

If you need to add a new tool to your wellness toolkit, consider daily doses of hope right from its source. For we have a living Hope, who loves to give good gifts to those He loves!

"As for me, I will always have HOPE; I will praise You more and more." (Psalm 71:14)
