DAY 35: {HOPE IN THE LORD}⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I first memorized today’s verse in the below translation, NIV.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Over the years, I have heard many version sung where they replaced the words ‘hope in’ with ‘wait on’. Both make sense, but only one ignites my heart with anticipation.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Waiting on someone puts the ball in their court to essentially wait for them to act.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Because I know God is always  moving in this world, and in my life, I find ‘hope in’ to be a more accurate reflection for my faith.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I hope in Him.
❤️His character.
❤️His heart.
❤️His goodness.
❤️His mercy.
❤️His justice.
❤️His grace.
❤️His faithfulness.
❤️His ‘foreverness.’
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And out of those aspects of my God, I eagerly anticipate His to move in whatever situation I am facing, and within me to help me to face it with His strength, His spirit.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So I don’t need to wait before I see Him actively and intimately with me.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Note as well that this verse says ‘will’ as its verb, over and over again.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🌼Will renew their strength.
🌼Will soar on wings like eagles.
🌼Will run without weariness.
🌼Will wait without exhaustion.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Because He 🌼will, I will hope in Him. And I don’t need to wait, for He is already with me!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“Those who HOPE in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” (Isaiah 40:31)
