"God proves to be good to the man who passionately waits, to the woman who diligently seeks. It’s a good thing to quietly hope, quietly hope for help from God. It’s a good thing when you’re young to stick it out through the hard times." (Lamentations 3:25-27 MSG)
The use of the words good and quietly hope really echoed within my heart as I read them the other day, and again as I type.
God proves Himself to be good to those who eagerly wait and seek Him. Whose hope may look quiet, but is grounded in His goodness, and the firm belief that He will help, even when we face hard times.
Learning this lesson when I was younger has helped me as I not only mature in age, but in my faith. My trust in my Hope is deeper, more solid and good than it was when I first followed Him. Like a fine wine, scotch or bourbon (or cheese, if you are so inclined) the wait produces a better batch than rushing the process.
I pray that if you too are passionately pursing after Him, He will meet you right in the moment of your greatest need, and that not only will He help, but He will build up your ability to put your hope in Him for every single thing coming your way as He reveals a greater revelation of His goodness to you.
