{DAY 57 – GETTING OUR HOPES UP}

“It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, He had His eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose He is working out in everything and everyone.”

Ephesians 1:11-12 MSG

Over the years, I can’t count how many times I put my hope in someone to follow through, or in a product to do what it promises to do. All to no avail. Lisa Bevere recently reminded us in her 1st free Strong course session that anything we put our hope in other than God is an idol. Even if it is something which could be good, it is an idol if we look to it for strength instead of God.

These verses today give us insight as to why putting our hope in God is not in vain.

  • 1. We find out who we truly are
  • 2. We find out what we are living for
  • 3. We find out that we have purpose as a part of His design
  • 4. God is working through every situation and every person, whether we see it or not

And friend? All of this from our Maker, our Savior, our Living Hope! His promises stand true, His Presence never leaves us or abandons us, and He is our refuge, stronghold, citadel of strength, shield, salvation in each and every time of trouble.

Join me today in praying these verses out loud over yourself. His Words release their power in the heavenlies and on earth when we speak them out.

“God, I thank You that it is in Christ that I find out who I am and what I am living for. Long before I first heard of Christ and got my hopes up, He had His eye on me, had designs on me for glorious living, part of the overall purpose He is working out in everything and everyone., including me! In the Mighty Name of Jesus I pray, as I ask You to make Your Word alive within me and Your Presence visible around me. Amen!”

  1. Hi Karla! Thanks for this encouragement about both getting our hopes up and keeping them up in Christ. Also, thanks for sharing Ephesians 1:11-12 MSG. I needed that today. I found you on the Purposeful Faith Link-up and I’m glad I did!

    1. Glad you stopped by Joy! I find that God has been super amazing about His timing for the verses I read each day. I chose this theme & the verses months ago, before Covid was even around, yet each day the Hope verses have been a source of comfort ans encouragement. He is so good!
