“We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers. We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. For we know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that He has chosen you, because our gospel came to you not simply with words but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and deep conviction.”
(1 Thessalonians 1:2-5 NIV)
When I started this series on #66versesofhope I had no idea how blessed I would be, nor how my hope would be more firmly anchored as I have checked in daily with these verses.
But God knew. In His timing, He placed the desire to take a closer look at what the Word says about hope, for He knew my hope would need a firmer foundation as Covid-19 drew closer and closer to my community, my family, my country, my world.
Today’s verse remind me of four foundational stones which work simultaneously together in my life, and if you are His, yours as well, friend:
1. My faith in Him is at work within me
2. His love is the motivator behind my actions
3. My hope in Jesus gives me the endurance I need
4. I am chosen by Him. As such am empowered by Him and rooted in Him
May you too be encouraged to claim these verses and speak them into your life, to see how God will water them and bring them to grow and flourish within you.
