{DAY 59 – HOPE OF SALVATION}

“But friends, you’re not in the dark, so how could you be taken off guard by any of this? You’re sons of Light, daughters of Day. We live under wide open skies and know where we stand. So let’s not sleepwalk through life like those others. Let’s keep our eyes open and be smart. People sleep at night and get drunk at night. But not us! Since we’re creatures of Day, let’s act like it. Walk out into the daylight sober, dressed up in faith, love, and the hope of salvation.”

(1 Thessalonians 5:4-8 MSG)

You too may have noticed the increased amount of anxious posts across social media. But have you noticed how many more faith focused and encouraging ones are out there now as well? Many churches who were formerly not tech focused are stepping up to maintain connection with their congregations, many organizations and businesses are doing the same to connect with their communities and clienteles. These positive posts are spreading light to all they reach, and reassuring that we are not alone, despite social distancing.

Today’s verses reassure us once again that we are His children, and need not walk weighed down by the state of stress that Covid-19 has set off. We know where we stand, which is with God at our side, in the freedom He has given us! So we can keep sharing the Light through our kindness to others, whether face to face at home or virtually via phone, text, email, video. We can continue to be clothed in the fruit of the Spirit, walk in His power, and spread faith, love & hope like refreshing rain across a drought inflicted land!

So thankful God not only is with us, but equipping us to do all things small or large with His strength! What glimpse of light are you most thankful right now?
