{DAY 65: KEEPING MY EYE ON THE GOAL}

“I admit that I haven’t yet acquired the absolute fullness that I’m pursuing, but I run with passion into His abundance so that I may reach the purpose that Jesus Christ has called me to fulfill and wants me to discover. I don’t depend on my own strength to accomplish this, however I do have one compelling focus: I forget all of the past as I fasten my heart to the future instead. I run straight for the divine invitation of reaching the heavenly goal and gaining the victory-prize through the anointing of Jesus.” (Philippians 3:12-14 TPT)

“I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back.” (Philippians 3:12-14 MSG)

Today’s verse is so good I couldn’t help but share it in two versions! Here’s my in a nutshell paraphrase…

1. God’s called & invited us to join Him

2. We can run with passion even though we don’t have it all together

3. God’s power is strengthening us as we go

4. We each have a purpose

5. We can leave the past behind and move towards the future

6. God has anointed us for our journey through Jesus

7. Heaven is the end goal for each of us

You will notice that the word hope is not included in these verses. In my opinion, knowing that God is with us as we move towards fulfilling our journey/race here for His Kingdom until we reach our forever Home – that should stir hope within each of His kids!

Keep going, friend. He is with you, for you, equipping and empowering you as you do what He asks you to do for His Kingdom. Our Living Hope is at work within you. Our part is to keep focused on our Hope, put His Word into practice & prayer, and follow Holy Spirit’s prompts. The hard part is leaning into His promises, letting go of our false sense of control, and leaving the results in God’s capable hands. But with His help, we can!
