It’s no secret I like to start my day, especially Mayday Mondays, with a coffee which kick starts my morning with my first sip.
But I have learned (the hard way) that my body is not designed to drink coffee all day long. My drink of choice for the rest of the day is water, which hydrates as it keeps my systems functioning well.
And just like adding fertilizer kick starts your plants’, growth, water is then required for gardens to flourish.
Listening to a worship song and spending a few moments in prayer is my spiritual coffee each morning. But going into the Word and allowing it to water my soul to new life. How it refreshes me is as important to me spiritually as water is to me physically.
Each and every time I open the Word, I ask Holy Spirit to make a verse come alive to me in that moment.
Because I want to not only follow God where He is leading me, but I want to join Him in what He is doing.
I pray that He would quicken all our hearts to focus more on His character, His strength, His heart and His
capability and let our stress, fears and anxiety be washed away as we spend time with Him.
“The Lord will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength. You will be like a well-watered garden, and like an ever-flowing spring.” (Isaiah 58:11)
