“Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.”
(Colossians 3:13-14)
There are some days where I find it harder to deal with other people. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Because I know that right now, many of us are hurting as we deal with the pandemic, racial injustice, financial and relational stresses. And many of us have shorter fuses than we used to as we navigate these uncharted paths, often trying to do so in our own strength.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As I have been recently revisiting some of Martin Luther King’s writings, I was struck by how much he believed in implementing verses like the one above to help better our world.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Bear with one another – whether good days or bad. Which also implies being patient with, tolerant of each other.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Forgive just as God forgives you. Each offense, every time.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Wear love as that which binds you to one another, so we become united. When we wear something, it becomes obvious, visible to those around us. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
May more of us increase our capacity to forgive, love and be patient with one another. Because we can change the world for the better the more we put His Words into practice. ⠀
