On the hardest of days when the waves feel like they are going to overtake us, or the winds blow so fiercely you can barely see to take your next step, it is a comfort to know God is keeping careful watch over us.
Our future in heaven is set. Our complete healing and wholeness is recorded in God’s handwriting, for it will happen if He says it will. Even when we can’t see it in the moment.
Each of us have an area or two we struggle with. It might be relational, finances, health, depression, loneliness. You may be needing surgery, have a loved one in the hospital, be comforting one who has lost a loved one, parenting a strong willed child, or reeling from an unexpected blow. When the heat is turned up and we feel like we’re on the frying pan of affliction, this verse helps keep our eyes focused on the truth, not our current circumstances.
When we choose to believe His Word over our thoughts, increased hope and faith begins to stir within us. As we choose to trust in what He can see instead of our own eyes, we begin to see the bigger picture.
Nothing we are going through is missed in God’s sight. He keeps careful watch over His beloved, and He is fully invested in His plans for us coming to pass.
We can have joy and peace in the hard times, for God reminds us repeatedly through His Word that He is not only the prize at the end, but He is constantly present with us each step and in every moment on the way!
