Breaking up with fear – part three

One of the reasons why we become afraid is due to this truth:

“Fear is faith in the wrong god.” Kris Vallotton @kvministries

When we look to anything and everything other than God when we are in need, we boost our thoughts higher than they should be, and fall into the ‘lofty’ thoughts trap of the enemy.

God’s ways are higher, greater and will not only never fail, but always come to pass.

Is it any wonder why we become fear filled when we look elsewhere?!

It is no coincidence that the Word reminds & reassures us not to fear over and over again. There are (depending on the translation) around 365 days worth of DO NOT FEAR verses for us to look to instead of alternate sources of comfort and encouragement.

Here are a few to speak aloud next time you are feeling fear creep up on you, or your thoughts stray away from His truth.

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)

“You came near when I called on You; You said, ‘Do not fear!’
(Lamentations 3:57)

“Fear not, therefore: you are of more value than many sparrows ” (Matthew 10:31)

What verse helps you stay grounded in your faith and away from lofty thoughts?
