Brokenness, encounter Truth

Broken does not mean hidden from His sight, or without purpose.

It means something which was originally a part of you has been changed through a hurt, a break of trust, a forced separation, or situation often beyond your control.

Nothing occurring in our lives takes God by surprise. He hears the cries of the broken, even the ones we don’t allow out into the light of day, or suppress out of our extreme pain.

Yesterday, I asked you to sit with Holy Spirit and invite Him to reveal where you are most broken & in need of healing, comfort & restoration.

Today, picture yourself sitting beside God on your sofa, in your car, on the Muskoka chair beside you – wherever you feel most comfortable – and allow these Words to soak down & touch the broken spaces within you. Accept them as truth even if you don’t feel any different. For our emotions are a guide to what is going on within, not long lasting Truth which stands the test of time, as our God is!

The Lord is near to the brokenhearted & saves the crushed in spirit.”

(Psalm 34:18)

He heals the brokenhearted & binds up their wounds.”

(Psalm 147:3)

“Heart-shattered lives ready for love don’t for a moment escape God’s notice.”

(Psalm 51:17 MSG)

“The Spirit of God, the Master, is on Me because God anointed Me. He sent Me to preach good news to the poor, heal the heartbroken, announce freedom to all captives, pardon all prisoners…”

(Luke 4:17-21)

“Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy & find grace to help us in our time of need.”

(Hebrews 4:16)

“All praises belong to the God & Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. For He is the Father of tender mercy & the God of endless comfort. He always comes alongside us to comfort us in every suffering…”

(2 Corinthians 1:3-4a TPT)

Tomorrow, we’ll chat more about how to walk out a season of brokenness with God’s help, knowing after today that He is with us in our pain, offering us comfort, grace & healing in our need.
