One thing I I’ve learned about prayer? Honesty is the best policy. If you feel it, own it and share it with God. The Psalms are filled with such honest prayers, and probably why we are drawn to them so much. So singing someone else’s words to God as a prayer is perfectly acceptable if they resonate with you!
It is rare for me to feel that every single word of a worship song I hear is an exact copy of an unspoken prayer stored in my heart. But “DON’T EVER LET ME GO” by @coreyvoss is one such song I can’t stop singing as a prayer every time I hear it.
๐ถ”If You make me clean, I will be clean. If You make me whole, I will be whole. If You make me Yours, I will be Yours and I won’t run anymore.
If I seek You, will I find You there? If I call Your name, will You still hear? Is it too late or can I start again, can I begin again?
Oh… Don’t ever let me go x3
Don’t ever let me go.
Can You drown it in the deepest sea? Can You cast it far as west from east! Can You raise me up to live again, so I can live again?
Oh… Don’t ever let me go x3
Don’t ever let me go.
I’m surrendering my will, You are crumbling all the walls I’ve built. My defence is coming down, down – I can’t deny You.
I am broken open wide, now You can come inside. My defences have come down, down – I can’t deny You…
Oh… Don’t ever let me go….
Don’t ever let me go.”๐ต
