Let It Go – Whose Voice Are You Listening To?

Here’s the thing about shame, friends.

It’s not a sin to listen to a voice other than God’s, such as shame, and the others we’ve been talking about in this Let It Go series.

It’s when we take a voice like shame to heart and put it into action in our lives – that’s when we step off the follow Him path into a detour, pit fall or merry go round.

Only God’s voice helps us step forward in freedom, purpose and His Presence.

I don’t know about you, but I have spent way too long on the enemy’s red herring trails which lead me only to wasted time & avoidable hurts.

If you are like me, you’d like a tool or two to help you determine whose voice you are listening to. And we have the best ones, friend.

📖Holy Scriptures
🕊️Holy Spirit.

The Word & the Spirit are the two best tools to use as filters for what you are hearing.

Hearing you aren’t fully forgiven or God couldn’t possibly want you after what you’ve done?

That doesn’t sound like the God of the Word, does it?

Hearing that you are too broken to be of any use in His Kingdom?

Ask Holy Spirit to reveal the truth. Coz if He can use a donkey to speak, how much more will He use a willing vessel?

If it isn’t true, right, good, kind, lovely, hopeful or blessing – chances are it’s not from God.

That’s why we are told to take every thought captive – EVERY ONE!!

“We capture, like prisoners of war, every thought and insist that it bow in obedience to the Anointed One.” (2 Corinthians 10:5 TPT)

Coz if the thought is not bowing to Jesus, it’s bowing to the enemy, or ourselves.

➡️Friend, the next time you hear something you are unsure of? Put it into time out, and take the time to check it out before you follow its lead.
