Proverbs 3:4-6 TPT

Like many of you, I like to do things on my own.

Which works for things like cooking, housecleaning, typing, answering the phone or paying bills, but not when it comes to my emotional, mental or spiritual wellness.

We were designed deep within to need God. The One who not only made us, but the One who left within each of us the desire to be known, and to need strengthening, encouragement, love and direction.

And asking for our Maker to come and help His creation?
ITS TO BE OUR USUAL, FOR ASKING FOR HELP IS….
🌿NECESSARY.
🌿HEALTHY.
🌿GOOD.
🌿WISE.

There is a Bible passage which reminds me to keep running, crawling, limping or crying to God for help on the hard, not so hard and sometimes just okay days.

🌿”TRUST in the Lord completely, and do not rely on your own opinions. With all your heart RELY ON Him to guide you, and He will lead you in every decision you make. BECOME INTIMATE WITH HIM in whatever you do, and He will lead you wherever you go.”
(Proverbs 3:5-6 TPT)

Our part is to:

🌿TRUST
By doing so, He helps us narrow our focus to His perspective, and better manage our thoughts and emotions.

🌿RELY ON
When we choose to press in and lean on His strength & guidance, He will prove Himself dependable and our ever present guide as we make our decisions. (The ones which we need His help with!)

🌿BECOME INTIMATE WITH HIM
When we spend a lot of time with a person we love, we not only become more invested in the relationship, we want to go everywhere we can together. This depth of relating is intimacy: where we don’t hold back what we need, what we want, what we really think, our hopes and dreams, our griefs and hurts from one another. Walking together with the stronger, wiser One navigating us through our days and nights, helping us avoid pitfalls, red herrings and missing out on a blessing we might not have seen without His insight & direction.

Putting this passage to memory again in this newer translation, to help me remember these three steps to a healthier, less stressed out and more willing follower of Jesus!

Who’s with me?
