God can pour on the blessings in astonishing ways so that you’re ready for anything and everything, more than just ready to do what needs to be done. As one psalmist puts it,
He throws caution to the winds, giving to the needy in reckless abandon. His right-living, right-giving ways never run out, never wear out.
2 Cor 9:8-9 MSG
God doesn’t hold back from pouring out His blessings, in giving His all with reckless abandon.
Trying to wrap my brain around this one today.
We tend to think of giving in terms of what we get out of it.
God gives without strings, recklessly abandoning the shoulds, cautions & expectations, giving anyway.
To all.
Everyone has been offered grace.
He is close to the needy, which if we are all honest is each one of us.
He gifts blessing to those who know Him & those who do not.
Wow.
The farmer sows his seed not knowing how the crop will turn out, but still gives it His best effort.
God sows love, grace & mercy extravagantly, with reckless abandon. Full well knowing those who will & won’t respond to Him. Yet He still gives His best to every single one as if they were the only one.
What an amazing love beats in Your heart, God!
Today, every day, those of us who know Him should be responding with reckless abandon to His love for us.
Because we know the depths of His love & mercy firsthand.
We should be lavishly sharing what He has & is doing for us, spreading hope like honey to all we encounter.
Not keeping it all to ourselves, hiding the honeypot away for binging in secret.
Reckless abandoning our lives for His glory, in response to the full reckless passionate love He lavishes on us every moment of every day.
