DAY 10: {HOPE DESPITE CIRCUMSTANCES}

Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret—it leads only to evil. For those who are evil will be destroyed, but those who HOPE in the Lord will inherit the land.”

Psalm 37:7-9 NIV

There are times when we can get caught in the crossfire of someone else’s bad choices. And it can hurt, can’t it? Not only if they do something wrong and you get the blame, but when it appears they are benefiting from it. Honestly, sometimes I just want to scream in anger over it.

But Jesus showed us a different way to respond on the cross, and these verses in Psalm 37 echo that healthier mindset. Instead of reacting, we can put our hope into action as we give our pain and anger over to God.

For that is the echo of Kingdom living, and Psalm 37:9 here holds a promise for those who put their hope in God – that we will inherit the land. The land God has for us here on earth, obtainable when we choose to walk out our Kingdom life faith – despite what we feel and see!
